Boy Survived Brain Surgery And Received As A Gift A Puppy With Similar Needs

The bond between the boy and the dog is surprising ❤😳

In October, two-year-old Branson Figueroa needed skull reconstruction surgery for the rare condition craniosynostosis. This happens when the baby’s skull closes before the brain is fully formed.

Thankfully, the surgery was a success and Brandon made a quick recovery, although his case is 1 in 50,000.

The Figueroa family, who live in Nottingham, NH, then celebrated by welcoming a Boston Terrier puppy named Thanos into their home.

Branson and Thanos bonded instantly and quickly became best friends.

But the family soon realized that something was wrong with Thanos. They took him to their vet, who conducted tests on Thanos and believed he might have hydrocephalus, a type of fluid build-up that can cause brain damage. like Branson’s case.

More tests are needed to see the severity of Thanos’ condition, but vets think he may need life-saving surgery to put a shunt in his skull.

These tests, treatments, and surgeries are very similar to what his little self had to go through.🙏🙏🙏

“I believe God puts everything in our lives for a reason,” Branson’s mother told WMUR. “There’s a possibility that he’s got into something and our son has to go through this, you know? It just didn’t happen. “
